Independently licensed to practice law in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey since 2009, Briana has built a unique expertise in television animation, consumer product goods, urban dance, fine art, music, and the business and legal affairs of celebrities, social media influencers, and entertainment corporations.

She is currently lives full-time in Los Angeles.

Her Story

Briana holds a Masters in Entertainment Industry Management from Carnegie Mellon University (2018), a law degree from Drexel University's Thomas R Kline School of Law (2009), and is a proud HBCU alumni with a B.S. in Finance from Hampton University  (2006).   

She has experience in financial market research, note trading, municipal bond refinancing, and election law finance through internships at Commerce Capital Markets and Janney Montgomery Scott, employment as Research Librarian at Janney, and as Treasurer of NEXPAC Political Action Committee in Philadelphia.

During law school Briana interned at the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office served as a judicial clerk intern for the Honorable Sheila Woods-Skipper in the Court of Common Pleas, First Judicial District, and completed a civil litigation clinic at the AIDS Law Project as a certified legal intern. Post graduation, she further developed program management, research, and public policy skills as Chief Legislative Aide in the Philadelphia office of Cherelle L. Parker, Representative of the Pennsylvania House's 200th Legislative District.    

In her early career, Briana became of counsel as a transactional and intellectual property associate at Reavis & Associates, PC, providing legal services for individual artists and entertainment institutions.  She volunteered with the Philadelphia Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts (PVLA), and worked with the Institute for Justice to provide legal assistance to property owners facing potential foreclosures as a part of a class-action lawsuit designed to address the civil forfeiture process in the City of Philadelphia.    

In addition to her work as an attorney, Briana was co-producer of the dance competition Juste Debout USA, and a founding board member of the Urban Dance and Educational Foundation (UDEF).  She was also a coordinator of  VIP Services for three Live Nation venues in Philadelphia (Tower Theater, TLA, and Fillmore).  Furthermore, she served part-time as Director of Post-Secondary Scholarship Programs for the Philadelphia non-profit, College Opportunity Resources for Education (CORE) where she oversaw four separate scholarship giving programs available to low-income student applicants nation-wide.

After moving to California, Briana broadened her legal skills to include consumer product goods in the marijuana industry and personal grooming products (shampoo/conditioner, body wash, deodorant, cologne, etc.), as well as the business of social media influencers and live-stream production. Through her work as Director of Business and Legal Affairs for Ignite International, Ltd, where she was registered as California In-House Counsel, she developed and oversaw the legal and regulatory matters involving marijuana and CBD, managed the drafting, review, and execution of business contracts, oversaw the management of the brand models and key influencers, and ensured communication across departments in the implementation of business decisions. As Head of Business & Legal Affairs for Blitz NV, Briana managed the relationship between a celebrity owner and their grooming brand, and served as a part of the core decision-making group acting as liaison between the product team and the celebrity for matters surrounding product decisions, launches, branding and marketing (including influencer marketing). Due to her dual roles and simultaneous work between several companies under the brand of a single celebrity influencer, Briana was able to hone her skills in brand maintenance, brand management, franchise management, and overseeing global IP tracking, prosecution, and management across several business verticals at once.

Recently, Briana served as a Business Affairs Consultant for Disney TV Animation, negotiating a variety of deals related to animated series in development, and those slated for Disney +, Disney Channel, and Disney Jr. Currently, she is a Director of Business Affairs at Sony Pictures Animation.

Briana is scratch golfer and has instructed Philadelphia youth golf programs, and provided summer golf classes for women.  She also plays alto saxophone and has light language skills in Spanish, is working on re-developing her Japanese language skills, and is making repeated attempts to learn French. Her hobbies include watching anime and action movies, along with a healthy addiction to NPR.
